Privacy
At CoastHills Federal Credit Union, your privacy and the protection of your non-public personal information are top priorities. The Credit Union does not share any non-public personal information with non-affiliated third parties except with your consent or as specifically permitted or required by law. This notice describes how we protect the privacy of your personal information. Throughout this notice, the word “information†refers to personal information about you that may not be publicly available.
Categories of Information CoastHills Collects
We collect non-public personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or forms
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others
- Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency
This information is only collected for the purpose of providing financial services
Categories of Information the Credit Union Discloses
No non-public personal information is disclosed to any affiliated or non-affiliated third party without your consent or authorization except as permitted or required by law, such as disclosure to consumer reporting agencies of information concerning your transactions with the credit union. Because the Credit Union does not disclose your personal information to affiliates or third parties except with your consent or as specifically permitted by law, it is not necessary for you to “opt out†of any such disclosures.
Parties to Whom We Disclose the Information
Your non-public personal information is not disclosed by the credit union except with your consent or authorization, or as permitted or required by law. For example, we may disclose information about your transactions with the credit union to the following types of third parties:
- Non-Financial Companies such as check printers, card issuers, mailing services, and marketers, with whom we contract to assist us in servicing you accounts and providing the financial services you have requested. Each vendor we use to provide such services must agree in writing to maintain the confidentiality and security of you personal information.
- Financial service providers with whom the Credit Union has a joint marketing agreement. Such disclosures are limited to those permitted by state and federal law and all of our joint marketing agreements contain strict confidentiality and non-disclosure provisions regarding use of your personal information.
- We also may disclose information concerning your transactions with the credit union, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements as long as we allow you to opt out of this. We may also disclose information about you under other circumstances, as permitted or required by law.
If you decide to terminate your membership with the credit union or become an inactive member, we will not share information we have collected about you except as may be permitted or required by law.
Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure
The Fair Credit Reporting Act governs the sharing of information that may impact upon you for purposes involving credit, collections, employment, insurance, and other purposes set forth in Section 604 of the Act. We learn information about you from our experience with you and from information provided by others, such as through credit reports. The Fair Credit Reporting Act permits us to share with our affiliate, CoastHills Wealth Management (a wholly owned subsidiary of CoastHills), and credit reporting agencies, information about our transactions with you. We do not share information provided by others except with your consent and authorization.
How We Protect Your Information
We restrict access to information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal and state law to guard your information.
